ClientRelay documentation
Everything you need to deploy and manage AI assistants from a single hub.
What is ClientRelay?
ClientRelay is a multi-tenant AI assistant platform for agencies, digital partners, and businesses. You deploy AI-powered assistants (called clients) for websites from a single dashboard (called a hub). Each assistant has its own knowledge base, branding, and settings — perfect for agencies serving multiple customers, or businesses with multiple brands and websites.
Sign in with your Google account at clientrelay.tech/app.
How it works
- Sign up with Google — no credit card needed for the Free tier.
- Create a client (assistant) for a website.
- Scan the website — ClientRelay crawls it and builds the knowledge base.
- Embed the assistant — paste a script tag and the assistant is live.
- Manage everything from the dashboard: knowledge, chat logs, leads, and more.
Chat credits
Credits are consumed per AI reply (not per visitor message). Choose the model per client:
| Model | Current paid slots (2,000 credits/slot) | Legacy arrangements |
|---|---|---|
| Standard (GPT-6 Luna) | 1 credit / reply | 1 credit / reply |
| Advanced (GPT-5.6 Terra) | 15 credits / reply | 3 credits / reply |
| GPT-5.5, if already configured | 5 credits / reply | 5 credits / reply |
Standard (GPT-6 Luna) is recommended for most assistants. When your assistant has trained knowledge from your website, the Standard model delivers excellent answers.
Advanced (GPT-5.6 Terra) is a deliberate higher-spend choice. Paid-slot hubs with an effective Studio level or higher have advanced model choice. Existing legacy Agency/Scale access and package-controlled model access remain unchanged. The available choices are shown in Client Settings.
Current paid slots use the 2,000-credit allowance and the rates above. A conversation can contain several AI replies. Legacy allowances and model rates are unchanged. Free remains two slots and 50 credits per month with its existing model rates and access rules; those credits are not added to a paid allowance. Historical 400-credit paid periods keep their original allowance and rates.
Customer-package limits of 500, 2,000, or 5,000 credits are spending caps within the shared hub pool. They do not add credits. Check both the package limit and the remaining hub pool before promising an allowance.
AI replies pause when the remaining credits cannot cover the next reply: 14 credits cannot cover a 15-credit Terra reply. A client's package cap can also stop replies even when the hub has credits left. If eligible, use Hub Settings → Preview change to review more paid slots; otherwise contact the ClientRelay team.
Plans and billing
ClientRelay costs 250 NOK per paid client slot per month, excluding VAT. Each paid slot provides capacity for one assistant and 2,000 credits in the hub's shared pool per full UTC calendar month. The minimum for a new paid reseller hub is two paid client places, used or unused: 500 NOK/month with 4,000 shared credits for a full month. This reserves capacity; you can launch with one customer. Add places individually for 250 NOK and 2,000 credits each. Adding one paid place to the minimum gives three places at 750 NOK/month and 6,000 shared credits for a full month, excluding VAT. Creating a client uses an available place; it does not buy capacity or a separate level. Existing subscriptions and legacy hubs keep their agreed arrangement.
Free is a separate test with two slots and 50 credits per month, with no credit card required. Paid places replace the Free places: two paid places give you two places and 4,000 credits, not four places or 4,050 credits. Check your own arrangement in Hub Settings or see public pricing.
ClientRelay reseller hubs are for agencies and resellers serving other businesses. Need one assistant for your own business? Get started through our partner Spektrum.
Reseller levels and knowledge capacity
Your paid slot count unlocks levels automatically. There is no separate level purchase. Team access, ordinary widget customization, and Human Assist are included in the paid-slot offer.
| Level | Paid slots | Knowledge per client | Benefits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 2 (existing one-place subscriptions retain Starter) | 3,000 KB | Core features. |
| Studio | 3–9 | 5,000 KB | Everything in Starter + advanced model choice and reseller footer branding. |
| Agency | 10–19 | 10,000 KB | Everything in Studio + more knowledge capacity. |
| Scale | 20+ | 20,000 KB | Everything in Agency + more knowledge capacity. |
Knowledge capacity is the amount of saved website text an assistant can use, separate from monthly reply credits. An assigned customer package can impose a lower limit; check the client's actual allowance in the dashboard.
Benefits activate after payment. A paid invoice covering a full calendar month earns that level permanently; a partial-month payment gives access without permanently earning the level. Effective benefits follow the higher of your current paid-slot level and your earned level. Earned benefits remain on a paid subscription and pause on Free. They do not preserve a previous slot count or credit pool.
For a full month, 2 places cost 500 NOK with 4,000 credits; 3 cost 750 NOK with 6,000 credits. 10 slots cost 2,500 NOK with 20,000 credits; 11 cost 2,750 NOK with 22,000 credits. Both ten and eleven slots are Agency. All prices exclude VAT.
Changing your paid slots
For an eligible hub, open Hub Settings, enter the total paid slots you want, and choose Preview change. Review the price and allowance, then confirm and complete any payment step. Preview does not purchase slots. Refresh payment status checks an existing payment; it is not required before previewing.
First purchases and increases are prorated in both price and credits for the remaining UTC calendar month. Unused credits do not roll over. Reductions take effect at renewal, and your client count must fit the requested capacity. Disabling or deleting an assistant does not automatically reduce your subscription; change the paid slot total in Hub Settings.
Controls depend on your permissions, the hub's billing arrangement, and whether purchases are enabled. For unavailable controls, unresolved payments, refunds, or legacy changes, contact the ClientRelay team with your name, company or hub, contact details, and requested change. Start payments from the signed-in dashboard; do not use unofficial payment links.
Which clients use a slot?
For paid-slot capacity, every client that has not been deleted counts, including disabled assistants and clients in your linked client-only accounts. Turning an assistant off does not free its slot. Use the client count in Hub Settings when reviewing a capacity change. Legacy arrangements may have different limits.
Dashboard sections
The sidebar is organized into a few direct pages and four groups that expand when you need them:
- Dashboard — Overview of your hub — clients, usage stats, quick actions.
- Playground — Test your assistant live before deploying.
- Knowledge sources — everything your assistant knows:
- Knowledge Base — Add custom text snippets the assistant can reference.
- Q&A — Add exact question-and-answer pairs. Use
[LEAD_FORM]to trigger lead capture inline. - Websites — Scan a URL, schedule auto-rescans, view crawled pages, add single pages manually.
- Settings — configuration for your hub and each assistant:
- Hub Settings — Paid client slots, price and credits, reseller benefits, promo page, and branding. Billing controls depend on your permissions and arrangement.
- Client Settings — Name, system prompt, AI model, allowed origins, notifications.
- Widget — Get embed code, configure appearance, and lead capture settings.
- Insights — what is happening with your assistants:
- Activity — Browse chat logs and conversation history.
- Leads — View captured contact information from the lead form.
- Tools — Calculator, Reseller Academy, Human Assist (live handoff), this documentation, Support, and What's new (release updates).
- Clients — Create, edit, enable/disable, and delete assistant clients.
- Team — Manage hub members. One Owner, multiple Admins.
Setting up an assistant
- Create a client. Give it a name and the website URL.
- Scan the website. ClientRelay reads the sitemap, crawls the homepage and linked pages, and stores the content as searchable knowledge.
- Customize the system prompt. Tell the AI how to behave, the tone of voice, what to cover, and what to avoid. The dashboard's Prompt Strength Meter rates your prompt and suggests improvements.
- Embed the widget. Copy the embed code from the Widget section and paste it into your site.
- Test it. Use the Playground or visit your site.
Embed code
<script
src="https://clientrelay.tech/widget/chatbot.js"
data-client="YOUR_CLIENT_SLUG"
data-name="AI Assistent"
data-color="#007bc0"
data-greeting="Hello! How can I help?"
></script>
The assistant appears as a floating bubble on every page that includes the script.
Key features
- On-demand knowledge fetch — baseline content is crawled, additional pages are fetched in real time when matching the visitor's question.
- Auto-rescan — daily, weekly, or monthly scheduled re-crawls. Included on every plan.
- Lead capture — built-in form storing leads in the dashboard with email and push notifications.
- Human Assist — live handoff from AI to a human agent. Included in the paid-slot offer; an assigned customer package can control a client's access.
- Custom branding — ordinary widget colors, names, avatars, and greetings are included in the paid-slot offer. Reseller footer branding is a separate benefit at effective Studio level and above; ClientRelay attribution remains visible. Existing legacy entitlements remain unchanged.
- Allowed origins — restrict embedding to specific domains (optional).
- Promo page — eligible reseller hubs can add a promo tagline and enable Promo page active in Hub Settings. The basic footer link to an active promo page is separate from reseller branding and does not itself require Studio. Effective Studio and above on paid slots includes a reseller brand name and an eligible custom footer destination; existing legacy Agency and Scale entitlements remain unchanged. Contact ClientRelay to set a custom destination. Without a valid promo or custom link, the footer points to clientrelay.tech. ClientRelay attribution remains visible.
Your customer selling prices
In Hub Settings → Your customer packages and selling prices, the hub owner or an admin can edit paid-package prices in whole NOK, excluding VAT, and save each price. Free stays at 0 NOK. The saved prices appear in your customer package displays and promo page. Existing prices stay as they are until you save a change.
These are your selling prices. Editing them does not change the ClientRelay platform subscription, credits, models, knowledge limits or features, charge your customers, or update an existing payment-provider price. Set the package's order/payment link separately and check that its checkout price matches your offer. Contact ClientRelay for changes to package limits or features.
Getting support
Tools → Support is where you get help with ClientRelay itself. It holds two things.
The support assistant — an AI assistant that answers from the ClientRelay documentation: how the dashboard works, what a setting does, how scanning and credits behave, and how to get an assistant live on a customer site. Available at any hour.
The Direct Line — a private message thread between your hub and the ClientRelay team, for anything the assistant cannot answer: account questions, billing, something that looks broken.
- Private to your hub. Only your hub and the ClientRelay team can read your thread. No other reseller sees it, and you do not see theirs.
- Who can write. The hub owner has access from the start and can grant it to individual team members with the Support access toggle on the Team page.
- You are notified. A reply sends you an email and shows an unread count on the Tools menu and on the Support entry inside it. Opening the thread clears it.
- Messages are deleted after 30 days. Keep anything you need to refer back to somewhere else.
Ordinary support hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00–16:00, excluding Norwegian public holidays. The response targets in the reseller agreement apply: critical errors within 4 business hours, significant errors within 1 business day, minor errors and questions within 3 business days.
Support is available to reseller and superhub accounts. Client-only accounts are supported by the reseller who set them up.
Frequently asked questions
How is ClientRelay different from other assistant solutions?
ClientRelay is purpose-built for agencies and multi-client setups. Key differences include multi-tenant architecture, on-demand knowledge fetch, auto-rescan included on every plan, a small set of managed AI model choices, and a built-in reseller/agency model.
Can I use ClientRelay for just one website?
For an assistant for your own business, get started through our partner Spektrum. A reseller can launch with one customer, but a new paid reseller hub reserves at least two paid places, used or unused. Each place costs 250 NOK per month excluding VAT and adds 2,000 shared credits for a full month, so the entry point is 500 NOK and 4,000 credits. After the minimum, add places one by one. Free remains a separate reseller test with two places and 50 shared credits.
What AI models does ClientRelay use?
Standard (GPT-6 Luna) uses 1 credit per reply. Advanced (GPT-5.6 Terra) uses 15 on current paid slots, or 3 under legacy arrangements, subject to model access. Existing GPT-5.5 configurations retain their 5-credit rate. Client Settings shows the available choices.
Do I need technical skills?
No. Enter your website URL, click "Scan Website," copy the embed code, and paste it on your site. That's it.
Can I add custom answers?
Yes. Use the Q&A section to add exact question-and-answer pairs. These take priority over AI-generated answers.
How does the assistant stay up to date?
Two ways: manual rescan anytime, or scheduled auto-rescan (daily, weekly, or monthly).
Is my data secure?
Yes. Row Level Security on all tables, server-side API keys, HTTPS encryption, and Google OAuth authentication.
What languages does the assistant support?
The assistant responds in whatever language the visitor uses. The dashboard is available in English, Norwegian, and Swedish.
